This time I used the search function twice, so I'm quite sure there's nothing like this yet (there will be, I know ;D).

So, what's your favorite Gimp tutorial? Any sites, any themes allowed, but it has to be for Gimp. Please give us the link, a brief description, a preview image of the result, and one sentence about WHY this one is your favorite.

Mine is definately this one -> LinkZ
    Preview image of the result:

Description: Shows you how to make such a splash screen.

    Why?
Because it was one of the first tutorials I ever followed, and I immediately fell in love with the result. Good old days when design was only following some clicks ...

    Your turn...

Starlight's tuts are some of my favorites, because they use a lot of neat techniques, custom brushes, and the results are all very cool. They can be found here.

Also, Gimper's Split-toning tutorial is a cool one that I used in my Daft Punk sig that gives some pretty neat results with colors, without needing a lot of gradient maps.

Finally, Tripwire's "How to write a tutorial" is a great read for anyone wanting to create a tutorial. I pretty much live by what he wrote there when it comes to writing my own.

I like going to the PS tutorial sites and mimicking their tutorials in Gimp. =)

    My favorites include:
    Animating with Gimp using GAP
    Link
Well after knowing the trick, I was able to do my own moving box ing gif format the easy way so I recommend this for those who are new in the plug in.XD

    Another tutorial is "Painting Clouds"
    Link
It is perfect for backgrounds, plus, every cloud is unique therefore it have the personality of its creator. It is painting indeed. =D
-Also, would it be okay to post videos here? They're not tutorials but are fast played process of creations. For example videos about drawing an anime with just the mouse and Gimp?

This one is now my favorite because it is very easy to create and is best for desktops and sigs! I first saw this in use as a sig by MrOhsee, a fellow Gimper in this site. =D I've already made a hexagon brush just for this. Diamonds are nexts!
I recommend the step by step tutorial than the video in youtube because the procedures are much more detailed and is supported by pictures.

You can get extremely realistic looking planets using this tutorial . Also if you are just starting out with Gimp it`s a good way to learn about paths, gradients and textures.

It`s my favourite because I enjoy making spacescapes and I`m always on the lookout for good new space tuts. This is one of the best.

    (Nice Bokeh gimpeRaven ;) )

Oh, the picture above is a picture not made by me but by the author of the tutorial site. But hey, the saturation is perfect plus it was done with a Gimp brush so I really like it. :)
@MrOhsee, your fave seems to be another tutorial I'll try. It can be used for mech environments. =3

@Cyrilshark, your favoritism is weird! Isn't the person who created/reproduce the tutorial is the brilliant and can be the favorite? Well we're talking about tutorials (and not favorite persons lol) so I lost from the start. ;D
