yeah i uploaded the xcf here if your interested.
    http://www.mediafire.com/?zwidegwwmlj (43.77 mb)

texture is a dif dl here
    http://www.mediafire.com/?uhzyixuzxg0 (500kb)
open the texture xcf add another layer color 2d2d3e, or any color you like, set that layer to screen mode and adjust the opacity to your liking.
now just cut out (with the selection tool), pieces for your road, that look good to you.
place them together in your image on separate layers and crop out a square
then just copy each piece, fill with white and drop it down and move it around for the white crack effects.
ill get a tut together for it, it takes quite awhile to create all the layers, and i suggest using the texture i created , but if you want to make your own have at it.

oh btw the paint (yellow) is all set to color mode, and then doubled the layer to make it more defined.

i will get a tut together though, it actually was an inspiration from HeathenX at InkScapes tutorials site.He created one with a dif logo.
I wanted to try and do it in GIMP, which seems to have worked out ok. =)

thanks for your kind remarks folks.

using this color 6f6f89 will result in this color texture with dif opacity settings and screen set for layer
in short you can make your asphalt brand new or old looking. =)
its a matter of what you want...
