gimp makes the folder when you install gimp. are you sure you are in the correct directory?

    C:\documents and settings\your computer's name\.gimp-2.x\brushes

no the folders should be there.

open windows explorer and click on the c: drive

    the folder i suggested is C:\documents and settings\computer's name\.gimp-2.x\brushes

i believe the one Ajit suggested will be found under c:\programs.......

i think i might try uninstalling gimp and then reinstalling it because all of these folders should be there and you might encounter other problems.

something is strange here. i don't thing gimp will work without these folders.

but no need for panic. we will get you through this. i've made an image of what the directory tree should look like in windows xp. i now have vista so i'm doing this from memory. there are other folders under "documents and settings". like, all users and administrator....i think. i'm just showing the "computer name" in the tree which for me is "marty"

open windows explorer and look for this tree. you'll see the brushes folder. put your brushes there.
