Hello all, new to forum. L7hope can you please explain how you get to this path
    Code:
    /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images
what distro of linux do you flavor? In Ubuntu the path to my gimp2.4.7 folder is
    Code:
    /user/.gimp-2.4/
I create the "Splashes" folder and placed our png image inside..
started up my gimp.. and nothing. Any idea why? thanks for the help.

    Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)
    Kernel Linux 2.6.24-19-generic
    GNOME 2.22.3

    From a command prompt, type
    Code:
    cd /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images
    and press Enter.

In the GUI, open your home folder. There should a an arrow to the left of your username in the upper left corner of the window. Click it twice to get to the root folder of your system. You should be able to see the usr folder in the root directory.

    Double-click usr
    Double-click share
Double-click gimp (you'll probably have to scroll down quite a bit in this directory to get to this folder)
    Double-click 2.0
    Double-click images

There you have it. Easy as pie. :)

To answer your other questions, I use Ubuntu 8.04 as well. Put your splash images in the "images" folder and you should be good to go.

I can cd/ into images threw terminal but thats as far as I get, move or delete from terminal is not an option for me. As you can see, new to ubuntu as well, thanks again.
