bones he doesn't like that every week you make threads like this one
    This one!

    Age?!?
It you want to reject someone being a mod don't reject them cause they are too young..I would think talent would come before age anyway? No?

Bones, here's why. You know you have had three past warnings issued, right? It doesn't say that now because they were some time ago (but I can bring them up if you like), but you should be banned. Plus, I do think age comes to play when it comes to moderating. Art is a different story. There's no age to that, but moderating does.

perhaps "mature" would fit better than "age" but then, most times maturity comes with age .. so ... *shrug*

in any case, i think we have enough mods. =) and theyre good at their job.

I don't think so I know some pretty immature adults, and some pretty mature kids. Lol, I honestly don't see how age is a problem. Like my pm to sglider I don't see why you don't let him be a junior moderator. I really have never seen such a neglect for a user with such activity. However, I do believe that we have enough people locking and reinforcing rules, and our mods are good at such. But, for a user that only wants to help people and have a little authority. I don't see why you can not give such authority. Our mods are good and I'm very grateful of most of the things they do. But, they lack understanding of one thing which is that if you can do something and its not to difficult its worth doing just for that one user. This is how you make bussiness, you need to make everyone happy. I'm not only speaking of bones being a moderator but many other simple suggestions that have been rejected. Please consider what I have said.

Its not about making everyone happy as u said.
It is not possible to imply every suggestion that is being given to make someone happy. We tell you the alternatives as well the reasons why the suggestion is not useful.Morever all the members give their opinion on a suggestion and then it is rejected or approved.
Can you image Mr. Obama following every suggestion which includes children being given the license of M16's

as for Bones , you are bending too much towards him.
Bones created many problems as Bones as well esqeletus .
Though he has changed a lot now but the image takes a lot of time to be changed. If you ask any old member ,bones as mod he will simply say no.
If bones ,you really want to help, why dont u report the bad posts etc .In this way you can not only volunteer but also come in the eyes of admins ,if they need any mod in future.:)

I think you missed my point sidd. If someone makes a suggestion and its not difficult to do..and it doesn't offend anyone..WHY NOT DO IT!? Is it worth it to make that one viewer happy?!? Is it worth it? To have that one viewer be happy?

Think about it..if that one viewer feels important because that mod took his/her suggestion as something that is important. Will they or will they not tell others about gimper? Will they or will they not come back to the forum more often?

I hope this doesn't come off rude..this is my way of discussion =) lol

Deja vu... I feel like I have read this type of topic before.

I already excused myself for being powerless and not having the time enough to deal with the community demands.

Age does not matter. The first person who introduced me to the world of programming was a 14 year old, and I was around 16 I think maybe a bit more, don't remember. He was knowledgeable and pretty mature, not to mention understanding.

What I want from a moderator? To be conscious, understanding, and take that to make the right decisions. I'm hoping for each moderator to be courteous, not everyone will be what I'm hoping for. (Due to personalities)

Many of you might think of me as a harsh person, in true I'm pretty easygoing and Gimper knows I speak quite a lot of nonsense when we are talking :p. In the past I have also warned sglider12 via PM for using affiliated links and siddharth for other reasons(which reminds me I have to PM him for quite a lot of things).

People who ask to be moderator are the ones that have a rare chance to be. The first application opened, I chose sglider12 to be the new moderator. If these kind of topics continue I will have to lock them, if I feel like there NEED to be new ones then I will just open a new request for applications.

Like I have said before, if you FEEL uncomfortable with some moderators Private Message me right away with proof. No information will be leaked to them as this is just between administrator and user.

actually by age I meant maturity but the right word didnt strike me at the right time :p

as for age I myself am 15 and became the mod of gimper when I was 14 ;D 8)
also I made my first software at the age of 13 and my first professional blog and site at the age of 14
