Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here but had some experience with simple use of GIMP previously. I did some simple stuff, but I'm long away from being an advanced user. Now, I need as simple thing as optimizing and saving images for web. I make children picture books for Kindle and have to optimize images to not exceed allowed by Amazon sizes, but keeping highest possible quality at the same time. Photoshop Save for Web feature could work well if I had a valid license, this is why I decided using the GIMP. I know there is a Save for Web plugin for the GIMP, but for some reason I can't install it on my OS X 10.6.8. I downloaded the plugin from here: http://registry.gimp.org/node/33 and tried installing it as described here: http://registry.gimp.org/comment/12678#comment-12678 I stuck on the point #4 "install Gimp-Devel plugin via MacPorts" - just got an error. I even don't know if this guide works for the last version of the GIMP. Does anyone know how to install the Save for Web plugin on Mac with OS X 10.6.8 with the GIMP 2.8.6? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
